UI10: How Did You Like It?
October 19th, 2005
Wow! We’re just now going through the evaluations of the conference and I gotta say, people really loved it. I can’t believe how highly people rated every aspect of the conference. If you weren’t there, obviously missed something big!
I’ve also gotten a ton of emails. Just a few I’ve gotten:
Brandon:
Just wanted to drop a quick note to say thank you for putting on such a great event. I brought back many valuable ideas to my company.
Marjorie:
Thanks for the great conference. It was my first UI gathering and I was very impressed. Great sessions, good food, really friendly crowd, informative.
Daniel:
Thank you for a well organised, informative and energetic conference.
James:
I really enjoyed UIE 10. I would recommend this conference to others.
Robert:
Amazing conference. I learned a lot and really enjoyed it. Now to put it to work.
Mike Madaio blogged about the conference, as did Matthew Oliphant and our own Josh Porter (here and here). [I did that just because Jakob wouldn't like it.

Just wanted to let you folks know that I thoroughly enjoyed the UI10 conference. I brought back a wealth of information to my organization and am now faced with the enviable position of determining the best way to share and implement all this great material as quickly as possible.
All of the seminars were good and some were spectacular. Not a one of them disappointed. Look forward to coming next year.

I’ll chime in with how much I enjoyed the conference as well. Hagan Rivers’ session was terrific. So was Kelly Goto’s and I found the mini-sessions valuable as well.
I’d like to suggest for next year that you consider a session on ADA compliance. It’s becoming a big issue for us. There’s a lot to consider about best practices, initial target goals and using CSS or content management tools to make the job manageable.

Excellent presentations and content; thank you. Hagan and Kim, great topics and very enlightning material. Would love to see more content on Ajax soon or next year at the conference.

I can’t say enough about how wonderful the conference was. Like many others
I’ve come back to my company brimming with ideas for how to do things better
and smarter and new technologies and solutions to research. Rolf Molich’s
session on advanced usability techniques was especially good.

This was the best conference I ever attended! Very useful material and presenters (long and short presentations), interesting location, nice people and good food – what more can you ask for
Thanks to all the people who worked hard to put this together: you’ve done a wonderful job AND dealt graciously with the inevitable glitches that happen in such big events.
I’d love to be there next year!

It was another really informative UIE conference. I found lots of very practical examples that apply to my everyday job and it confirmed alot of ideas going through my mind in the last few months including the impact of AJAX on alot of our standard UI processes.
I was also interested in the number of project managers and marketing folks I saw at this year’s event. That’s real progress in instituitionalizing usability throughout the organization!
