The folks over at CyWorld have an interesting challenge. They are trying to bring an extremely popular Korean web site to the US. To do so, they spent a lot of time researching how the transition should go.

They realized their existing site grew to what it is today over a nine-year period. As a result, they’ve decided to rollback some of the features for the US version and let them evolve on their own, instead of introducing a mirror-image of the Korean site.

Someone is thinking about designing for embraceable change.

Listen to an excellent podcast by Heather Green at Business Week on CyWorld’s American launch.
