Hotel & Travel Arrangements
User Interface 14 will be held at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts. We have a limited number of guest rooms in our discounted room block, so if you are planning to stay at the conference hotel, you'll want to book your hotel room right away. There is also a city-wide convention during the time of our conference, so hotel rooms in general will be limited.
The room rate is $279/night plus taxes. The discounted room rate is available until Friday, October 16, 2009.
To Receive the discounted rate and reserve your room: Call (800) 468-3571 and mention the User Interface conference. Or, visit the hotel web site and enter the group code UICUICA.
If you're flying, you'll be arriving at Boston's Logan Airport. Options for transportation between the airport and the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel:
- Taxis are plentiful at Logan airport, but fares can cost in the $30-$35 range. During non-rush hour, a taxi ride takes 15 minutes. During rush hour, the ride will take approximately 30 minutes.
- Public transportation from the airport is significantly cheaper than the taxi or shuttle but it is for the adventurous. You will have to take the silver line train from the airport terminal to the Silver Line Way stop. From the stop, just cross the parking lot and you'll be at the hotel. The Silver Line is part of the subway system but you'll actually be on a bus if you decide to take it.
To explore others areas of Boston from the Renaissance Boston Waterfront hotel, we recommend visiting the hotel concierge for directions and a map. The Silver Line Way stop is the best subway stop to use when connecting to other parts of the city. If you plan to have a car, be aware that parking in Boston is scarce and expensive, and driving in the city can be challenging.
For those driving to the conference, there is valet parking available at the hotel. You will be responsible for these charges; we do not validate parking. Valet parking is $41/day. There is also off-site parking available at $27/day or $8/hour.
