The UIE Virtual Seminars, User Interface Engineering's monthly series of online seminars, give you the chance to hear the latest perspectives in the world of design from the field's premier experts. Instead of traveling to a training course, you and your colleagues can hear the latest insights on the most important design topics from your office. Once you purchase the seminar, you can watch the presentation right on your PC screen.
If this is your first time signing up for a UIE Virtual Seminar, you'll find that attending the seminar is a very simple process.
During a Virtual Seminar , you'll see the slides and hear the presenter's voice through your computer's speakers. (If your bandwidth isn't up to the task, you can use your phone to hear the instructor via teleconference.)
We try and make each seminar as interactive as possible. Throughout the seminar, you can post questions or comments. In the middle and end of the presentation, our moderator shares as many questions with the presenter and the broadcast audience as time permits.
Many of our attendees have never participated in an online seminar before attending a UIE Virtual Seminar. Here are some of the most common questions we've received.
How do I connect to the seminar?
We email detailed connection instructions to all attendees one week before the scheduled seminar. Once you receive the link to the virtual seminar meeting room and click on it, you'll be taken to a sign-in page where you'll see the title of the seminar being given. Below the title, you'll click the radio button to Enter as a Guest, and type your name into the field provided. Once you have entered your name, you'll click Enter Room.
Is there anything I need to do to make sure my computer meets the technical requirements?
Yes! We recommend you test your computer to ensure that everything is working smoothly on your machine. You can go to Adobe's Meeting Connection Diagnostic Page to test your connection.
Do we actually see the presenter during the presentation?
We put a photo of the presenter in the meeting room so you can see who you're listening to. There is no live video of the presenter to save on bandwidth.
How many people can I invite if I pay for one seminar feed?
Purchasing a single feed entitles a single connection. However, we encourage our participants to gather as many people as they like around that one connection to watch the live event together. Our participants often project the presentation in conference rooms. If you want people to participate from different locations, then you need to purchase additional feeds for the seminar.
