Would you like to have lifetime access to the most groundbreaking thinking in the world of Experience Design? Instead of traveling to a training course, you and your colleagues can hear the latest insights on the most important design topics right from your office.
Watching a UIE Virtual Seminar couldn't be simpler. You'll view the presentation in your web browser and listen to it with your computer speakers. (We've tested the seminar using Firefox and Internet Explorer on both Macs and PCs with great success.) All you'll need is a web browser equipped with the Macromedia Flash Player (version 6 or newer) and a connection to the Internet.
Usability testing is straight forward. You find a user or two (or 8), sit them down in front of the design, have them execute a task or two, take some notes, throw together a quick report, and, voila, you're done! That's all there is to it, right?
Not quite. It turns out there are many different ways to conduct usability research. In this presentation, UIE's Christine Perfetti will show you some methods you've probably never heard of—techniques only practiced by the most adventuresome usability professionals. Among the techniques you'll learn about:
Christine will share UIE's experience with these techniques and discuss how you can perform them yourself.
As one of the most requested instructors at User Interface Engineering, Christine has worked with dozens of companies on their toughest web design problems. With her extensive knowledge of human factors, task design, user recruitment, cognitive psychology, and usability testing practices, Christine has been a top-rated presenter at CHI 2001-2005, the Usability Professionals’ Association, the UIE Research Forums, the Intranets Conference, and several STC regional conferences. She has also taught Human Factors at the Tufts University Gordon Institute for Engineering Management.
Christine previously worked at Fidelity Investments, where she was an influential member of their highly-talented instructional design team. At Fidelity, she specialized in the areas of corporate training, instructional design, project management, and web-site design and development. She received her Master’s degree in Experimental/Social Psychology from Brown University and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Rochester.
