Summit Overview

Designers are creating web applications to deliver powerful interactivity to users, while taking advantage of a browser-delivered, platform-independent implementation. We're seeing web applications in every possible industry and discipline - everything from systems for consumer airline reservations to medical blood test orders are becoming increasingly commonplace.

Web applications have real advantages over software applications. But up until now, nobody really knew how to implement them. Browser restrictions, bandwidth issues, and a mainframe-style interaction model make designing web applications feel like a giant step backwards for the traditional software UI designer.

They say that pioneers are the people with the arrows in their backs. For this summit, we've invited those web application pioneers to share their experiences, the painful lessons they learned, the trials and tribulations, how they succeeded, and their plans for the future. You'll learn, first hand, what it takes to make successful web applications.

The UIE Web Application Design Summit is a unique event, focused on lessons learned by the leading experts in web application development.
